The demographic and economic growth of civilisations and cultures depends on the good use of water. When water consumption approaches the maximum amount of resources available, the risks of crises due to climate change or natural fluctuations arise. Sometimes it is the companies’ fault for over-exploiting the resources or altering or destroying natural flows.
Water stress is a measure of the over-exploitation of water resources in any region. Regardless of whether there are more or less available resources, the degree of water stress indicates the sustainability of the economy of each region and the risk of suffering a supply crisis.
